Scholarships for Geomatics

You are strongly encouraged to apply for the many scholarships available to you. You have nothing to lose except for a couple hours of your time. Once you have gathered your materials and letters of support they can easily be submitted to multiple scholarships. You should apply for as many that apply to your situation.

  • UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA ANCHORAGE TOPCON SURVEY SCHOLARSHIP. The purpose of the Topcon Survey Scholarship is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to full-time students who are formally admitted into a Geomatics degree-seeking program with an emphasis on land surveying, at the University of Alaska Anchorage. DEADLINE: November 7, 2005

  • UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA ANCHORAGE SIDNEY HENDERSON JR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP. The purpose of the Sidney Henderson Jr. Memorial Scholarship is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to full-time students who are formally admitted into a Geomatics degree-seeking program at the University of Alaska Anchorage. DEADLINE: October 7, 2005

  • UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA ANCHORAGE MAURICE P. OSWALD SCHOLARSHIP. The purpose of the Maurice P. Oswald Scholarship Fund is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to full-time students who are formally admitted into a Geomatics degree-seeking program at the University of Alaska Anchorage.   • Applications for the University of Alaska Foundation Statewide Scholarships. Deadline is in February for the next school year.

  • Each year, the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM) and its Member Organizations make available thousands of dollars in Scholarships for college students in the surveying and mapping professions. Outstanding students in a variety of disciplines are recognized at the ACSM Annual Convention each spring. These scholarships are a great opportunity for college students in surveying, mapping, geographic information systems, and geodetic science programs. DEADLINE: December 1, 2005

  • ASPRS Awards & Scholarships
    ASPRS is pleased to offer nine awards totaling more than $14,000. Available to both undergraduate and graduate student-members of ASPRS, these resources have been generated with the intention of advancing academic and professional goals within the fields of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. ASPRS recognizes that you are the future of this rapidly evolving field and hopes you will consider taking advantage of these unique opportunities.

    Awards are available in the form of travel grants, cash awards, internship stipends, and data. You must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, and you must be a member of ASPRS, to be considered. All awards ask that you submit samples of your work and research goals as part of your application, and that you submit a report to ASPRS outlining your research accomplishments upon completion of your grant period. DEADLINE: December 1, 2005.

  • The Museum of Surveying North American Surveying History Scholarship is also available. DEADLINE: November 1, 2005

  • The Western Federation of Professional Surveyors (WFPS) offers several scholarships each year to Geomatics students in the Western states. Application deadline is in the spring for the following school year. Here is the application for next year 2005/2006. DEADLINE: Closed

  • The Alumni Association is awarding four  $2,500 scholarships - one each to a major in the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering, the College of Health and Social Welfare, and the Department of Music.  All scholarships are funded by the UAA Alumni Association Permanent Scholarship Fund.  The scholarships requirements give preference to the children of UAA graduates. Interested individuals can get more information from the Student Financial Aid Office (907-786-1586) or email scholarships@uaa.alaska.eduDEADLINE: Closed

  • UNIVERSITY OF ALASKA ANCHORAGE RODNEY P. KINNEY SR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
    The purpose of the Rodney P. Kinney Sr. Memorial Scholarship is to offer financial assistance for tuition and other educational expenses to full-time students who are formally admitted into a Engineering degree-seeking program at the University of Alaska Anchorage with a preference being given to students of Alaska Native ethnicity.
