SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

ALASKA ASSOCIATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROFESSIONALS SCHOLARSHIP


Purpose
To provide scholarships for full-time undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program in the area of environmental (or natural) sciences, environmental technology, or environmental policy. The award amount for spring semester 2005 will be $1,000 plus round-trip air transportation to Anchorage in February 2005 and conference fees to attend the Alaska Forum for the Environment Conference.

Qualifications
Applicant should demonstrate motivation, academic and leadership potential.
Applicant must be in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
Applicant must be a full-time student attending UAF.
Applicant must be formally admitted into a degree-seeking program with an emphasis in environmental (or natural) sciences, environmental technology, or environmental policy.

Forfeiture of Award
Recipient will forfeit the scholarship if he/she:
Does not enroll full-time in the semester in which the award is to be in effect.
Is placed on academic probation.
No longer meets the scholarship qualifications.

Application Procedure
Complete the Alaska Association of Environmental Professionals Scholarship application, available from academic departments, Financial Aid or Development. Applications must be received by October 15 to be considered (not postmarked).

You will receive notification by e-mail or mail if you are a recipient of this scholarship. Three awards are available and applicants will be competing against students from the University of Alaska Anchorage, University of Alaska Anchorage, University of Alaska Southeast and Alaska Pacific University. More than one award (or none) could be made at each school.
