ASCE 1993 O.H. AMMANN RESEACH FELLOWSHIP IN STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING
The fellowship was originally endowed in 1963 by O.H. Ammann, Honorary Member ASCE, for the purpose of encouraging the creation of new knowledge in the field of structural design and construction. The amount of the award is $5000.
Eligibility:
Applicant must be a national ASCE Member, in any grade, and must be in good standing at the time of application and the time of award.
ASCE National Membership applications may be submitted along with scholarship applications.
Applicant may be a citizen of any country.
Application includes:
Brief application form.
Evidence of ability to conceive and explore original ideas in the field of structural engineering.
Description of proposed research and its objective, including a statement from the institution at which the research is to be done that the applicant and proposed research are acceptable to the institution.
Statement of purposes for which the funds are expected to be used.
Minimum of three recommendation forms (included in application package) to be completed by applicant's Student Chapter Faculty Advisor and at least two other members of the faculty.

Selection:
A committee of the Structural Division will recommend a recipient to the Committee on Society Honors.
Additional stipends (renewals) are determined annually by the Committee of Society Honors based on funds available from the endowment.
