CRITERIA FOR 2004-2005

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

University of Alaska Anchorage

 

Coral Sales Company of Clackamas, Oregon is pleased to offer two scholarships for the 2003-2004 school year of $1000 each to outstanding individuals (one male and one female) pursuing Civil Engineering studies in the School of Engineering at the University of Alaska Anchorage.  The criteria for these scholarships are as follows:

  1. The recipient must intend to pursue a career in Highway/Transportation Engineering or Highway Construction.
  2. Outstanding leadership qualities and participation in extracurricular activities, both civic as well as professional, will be given significant weight.
  3. Applicants' GPA will not be considered in award of these scholarships.  However, applicants must exceed the minimum GPA requirements for admission to the School of Engineering.
  4. The recipient must have lived in the Northwest for a period of at least six years.
  5. Students must be full time and have senior or junior standing; however, students with senior standing will be given priority.

Selection of the scholarship recipients shall be by the Engineering School. However, prior to announcement to the recipients, and prior to October 29, 2004, copies of their applications shall be furnished to Coral Sales Company for review and approval.  This review is only to verify that recipients meet the above requirements.

Award of the scholarships will be during Fall term 2004-2005 school year.
