GEO 257 - Elements of Photogrammetry

Course Description

Introduction to photogrammetric mapping including history, aerial cameras, optics, geometry of the aerial photograph, stereoscopes, parallax, and flight planning. Basic mathematics of photogrammetry and transformations. Techniques in the use of stereoscopes and photogrammetric plotters.

Course Design

This course provides the students with the fundamental theory and skills of introductory photogrammetry. It teaches the student use of a photogrammetry stereo plotter and requires a map project.

Prerequisites

A grade of C or higher in both MATH A108 and GEO A157
